Isa sa pinaka-exciting na moment sa freelance journey mo ay ang makakuha ng unang client. I’ll share with you kung paano ko nakuha ang first job ko online — at sana makatulong ito sayo.
Step 1: Nag-join ako sa isang Facebook Group
Napansin ko na maraming posts about hiring VAs and content writers. Sumali ako, nag-engage sa comments, and then may nag-post ng hiring for a blog writer.
Step 2: Nag-apply agad — with a simple but personalized message
Hindi ako gumamit ng template. Sinigurado kong basahin ang post at i-address ang specific needs ng client. Nilagay ko ang short intro, 2-3 skills ko, at sample article ko sa Google Docs.
Step 3: Sineryoso ko ang interview
Pinatawag ako for a short Zoom call. Simple lang ang tanong:
- “Why do you want this job?”
- “Can you write about this topic?”
- “When can you start?”
I answered honestly and confidently — and most importantly, I showed na willing akong matuto.
Step 4: Na-hire ako! At ang saya ng pakiramdam
Binigyan ako ng 1 test article, then naging regular weekly writer nila. Hindi man malaking bayad nung una, pero ang mahalaga — nagsimula na ako.
Learnings ko:
- Always be ready
- Be respectful and responsive
- Wag matakot magsimula kahit maliit
Final Thought: Your first client won’t be perfect — but it will teach you so much. Kaya habang naghihintay ka, gawa ka ng portfolio, sumali sa groups, at ipagdasal mo rin. Baka next week, ikaw na ang makakuha ng “Congratulations, you’re hired!” message.
